There have been other threads about Delta Vee and their products, but I thought I would create a new one after the great experience I had with them:
Several months ago I needed two new shocks for my 355 Spider, and i contacted Delta Vee. The price was very good. I received the shocks, mounted them and sent my old ones back for a core charge refund. All well and good as expected from the things I have read about Delta Vee.
Recently, the front right corner of my car started to make funny noises. When I called Delta Vee about this, I expected a fight, but instead I got an IMMEDIATE response. On my say so alone, they sent me out a new shock for next-day delivery to get me up and running. After the fact, they talked with my mechanic to analyze the issue and cause, and gave him their FedEx number to return the old shock.

"For all you 355 owners who love your go karts so much, I have a simple mod that makes an enormous difference. Get your shocks rebuilt from Delta Vee. I had mine done a couple months ago and it was like driving a 355 when it was brand new back in the 1990's. My 96 spider only had 9 k miles on it at the time and I was "shocked" to discover what a difference the rebuilt shocks made. Rob over at Delta Vee can do a core exchange so the shocks can be changed right out. From a pure driving standpoint, the additional enjoyment garnered from this mod rivaled or even surpassed the MS Racing exhaust with Hyperflows that I did earlier. Anyway, just thought I would pass this on to other 355 lovers, It will indeed tighten the bond you already have with your baby! Happy driving!" – Ken F

Rob's first
idea of pursuing a career in race engineering was back when the
only Motorsports on television in the U.S. were the Indianapolis
500 and the Formula One Grand Prix of Monaco on ABC's Wide World
of Sports. Seeing the six-wheel Tyrell on the cover of Popular Mechanics
sparked ideas and imagination that continues to this day. After
college Rob joined the racing industry via a break with a privateer
Trans-Am team. Continued experience with Sports 2000, and Formula
Atlantic resulted in an opportunity in the early Nineties that started
a nine-year tenure with one of the most racing oriented Ferrari
Authorized operations in the Midwest. During this time, Rob gained
experience building, evaluating and race engineering Ferrari road
and purpose-built race chassis from Michelotto-built 308, to modern
Formula One chassis. Toss in a few Trans-Am cars to round out the
decade.
Fortunate to have the
opportunity to evaluate the world’s finest automobiles. So
began a driving dynamics database of the past 40+ years of Ferrari.
Rob’s favorite
modern era chassis is the F40: “Certainly not the most refined,
the F40 is challenging to drive quickly and will not submit easily
to the driver, like an F50. By far the most rewarding Ferrari, as
to drive it well is not only an experience, but an accomplishment.”
A couple of years in
the race industry component aftermarket led Rob to opening Delta
Vee Motorsports. Supplying racers, teams and owners of high-performance
automobiles exceedingly high quality suspension, transmission and
engine components, in addition to the knowledge to take complete
advantage of these systems.
